Jersey City Row House

2025

Jersey City, New Jersey

Square Footage: 1,400

Rooms: 3 Bedrooms, 2 ½ Bathrooms

This Jersey City row house renovation is organized around a striking blue architectural volume that anchors the open-plan layout while concealing a wide range of essential functions. At the core of the home, this custom-built “box” houses a mudroom bench, full-height pantry and refrigerator cabinets, a powder room, a mechanical closet, a coat closet, a built-in desk, and a bookshelf—serving as a highly efficient storage and service core.

Living spaces flow fluidly around this central element: the living room sits at the front of the house, the dining area in the middle, and the kitchen occupies the rear. A built-in dining banquette maximizes seating while integrating additional storage below, offering a more relaxed, flexible flow around the table.

The kitchen features custom cabinetry in a mix of white lacquer and white oak, paired with richly veined soapstone countertops and backsplash for a clean yet tactile contrast. Pale wood floors, natural light, and soft material transitions contribute to a calm and cohesive atmosphere. The result is a warm, modern interior that balances clarity, comfort, and functionality—tailored to the rhythms of everyday urban life.
